5 Milisyang Bayan members surrender with firearm, 6 NPA supporters withdraw support in Antipolo City
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal- Five Milisyang Bayan members with one firearm surrender and six mass supporters withdraw their support from the CPP-NPA-NDF in Antipolo City on Monday, September 4, 2023.
In collaboration with Calawis Barangay Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict led by Hon. Allan A Abonio, joint troops of 80th Infantry “Steadfast” Battalion, Rizal and Antipolo PNP, facilitated the surrender of five Milisyang Bayan members with one Cal.30 Garand rifle and the withdrawal of support to the CPP-NPA-NDF of six mass base supporters during the Local Peace Engagement activity in Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City. Moreover, 73 barangay residents attended the activity who also took an oath of allegiance to the government.
"We shall continue to strengthen our peace efforts together with the various ELCAC Task Forces in Rizal to help our communities achieve lasting peace and socio-economic development. We are calling the remaining members and supporters of the CPP-NPA-NDF to return to the government’s side. Let us work together, united to bring peace and progress to Southern Tagalog.”, Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
