CAMP CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal - The 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division welcomed the surrender of six Militiang Bayan members and one Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad in Mauban, Quezon a day before the NPA anniversary on Monday, March 28, 2022.
According to reports the 6 MB members and 1 SPL surrendered to the forces of the 59th Infantry Battalion at Barangay Lual Barrio in Mauban, through the cooperation of the Barangay Task Force-ELCAC of Barangay Sta. Catalina of Atimonan, Quezon.
Major General Rowen S. Tolentino, the commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, lauded the local government unit of Barangay Sta. Catalina for their efforts in assisting the surrenderers.
"I would like to express my felicitation to the Task Force ELCAC of Barangay Sta. Catalina for facilitating the surrender of their kabarangays."
"The government will always welcome those who joined and are helping the communist terrorist in whatever capacity to surrender and disaffiliate themselves from this groups. We want our Kababayans who were only deceived with the communist ideology into joining the NPA to live peacefully and be productive citizens."
