8 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters withdraw support in Quezon
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Eight more supporters of the CPP-NPA-NDF from the municipalities of Catanauan and Buenavista in Quezon have withdrawn their support to the communist group from Saturday to Monday, March 25-27, 2023.
The Catanauan Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict led by Hon. Mayor Ramon A. Orfanel and Buenavista MTF-ELCAC headed by Hon. Mayor Reynaldo E. Rosilla Jr., with the assistance from 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion, Buenavista PNP, and Quezon PNP, facilitated the withdrawal of support from the CPP-NPA-NDF of 2 residents from the barangays of Matandang Sabang Kanluran and Tuhian in Catanauan and 6 residents from Del Rosario in Buenavista.
"Our unceasing Local Peace Engagement efforts with our partners in the Task Force ELCAC and other key stakeholders have immensely contributed in building the trust and support of our kababayans for the development of this part of the country. We continue to urge the remaining rebels and supporters of the Communist Terrorist Group to join us in bringing genuine peace and progress in Southern Tagalog,” 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
