CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Joint forces of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police welcomed the surrender of an NPA leader carrying a firearm in Dingalan, Aurora on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Troops from the 2nd Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Division, Rizal PNP, Quezon PNP, and Laguna PNP facilitated the yielding of alias Reynold, the Iskwad Lider of Platun 2 (YGM) of KLG Narciso from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub- Regional Military Area 4A at Sitio Pinamaypayan in Barangay Umiray of the said municipality. Alias Reynold also surrendered one caliber .45 pistol, one magazine, and four live ammunitions.
It can be recalled that only a day before, on January 25, alias Nelson, another Iskwad Lider of Platun 2 (YGM) was apprehended by the government forces in General Nakar, Quezon.
“This influx of surrenders, especially the yielding of ranking NPAs, is a clear sign that the leadership of the Communist Terrorist Groups is crumbling. We are now seeing our kababayans’ growing trust in the government’s plans to bring true peace and progress to our communities. Our doors remain open for the remaining NPA members who wish to return to the folds of the law and begin their lives anew with their families,” 2ID Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
