Army’s 2ID declares first Laguna town insurgency-free
The Philippine Army’s 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division declared the municipality of Kalayaan insurgency-free making it the first Laguna town to achieve the Stable Internal Peace and Security status following the ceremonial signing of documents in the said municipality on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and Declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security was headed by the Kalayaan Mayor and Kalayaan Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict Chairperson Hon. Sandy P. Laganapan, together with 202nd Infantry “Unifier” Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Cerilo C. Balaoro Jr. who represented 2ID Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong, and Laguna Police Provincial Office Officer-in-Charge PCol. Harold P. Depositar.
