Former NPA surrender firearm in Quezon
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – A recently apprehended NPA member surrender a firearm in Lopez, Quezon, on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Alias Bitoy, a former member of PLATUN REYMARK, Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4B, who surrendered to the government forces on February 3 decided to turn over his Calibre 38 revolver with no ammunition to the government forces. Alias Bitoy has kept the said firearm since the Platun Reymark detached and returned to Quezon Province on January 29, 2023.
"We are grateful for the trust of our former rebels towards the peace and development efforts of our LGUs,key stakeholders and security forces. We urge the remaining rebels to heed the call of our government for peace and return to the folds of the law to help our communities in achieving peace and development in this part of the region.", 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. General Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
