Former rebel surrenders firearm in Quezon
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal- A former Milisyang Bayan member surrendered a firearm to government forces in Lopez Quezon on Friday, March 24, 2023.
A resident of Barangay Gomez, a former Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad/Milisyang Bayan member of Platoon REYMARK from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4B who surrendered during community visitation last October 19, 2022, turned over one Cal. 38 revolver to the joint forces of 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion, Lopez PNP, Quezon PNP and Lopez Task Force ELCAC headed by Honorable Mayor Rachel A. Ubana at Barangay San Rafael.
"We are grateful for the trust of our kababayans and former rebels to the peace and development efforts of our security forces in the province. Together with the support of our communities, local government units and key stakeholders, we will soon finally achieve genuine peace and progress in this part of the country,” 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
