GMAKF, Army's 2ID inaugurates new school building in Quezon
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - The GMA Kapuso Foundation Incorporated together with the Philippine Army's 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division held an inauguration ceremony for the newly constructed school building of Binibitinan Elementary School in Polillo, Quezon on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
The two-classroom Kapuso School Building is part of a project spearheaded by the GMA Kapuso Foundation Incorporated, in conjunction with dedicated partners and the esteemed 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division to help schools struck by disasters and calamities. In can be recalled that the construction of the new school building began on May 10, 2023 and was completed in two-months’ time as earlier promised by the GMAKF.
The said ceremony was graced by GMAKFI Ambassador and Special Adviser Ms. Mel Tiangco, together with GMAKFI Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ms. Rikki Escudero-Catibog, Polillo Municipal Mayor Hon. Angelique Bosque, 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong, 202nd Infantry "Unifier" Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Cerilo C. Balaoro Jr., and representatives from other partner organizations.
In a statement, Maj. Gen. Capulong emphasized the importance of unity and partnership in driving sustainable development within communities. He added the new school building represents the convergence of hearts and hands from different sectors, empowering communities to thrive even in the face of challenges.
