CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Joint efforts of the Philippine Army's 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division and the Philippine National Police unearthed an arms cache in Jalajala, Rizal on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
Troops of the 80th Infantry Battalion, 202nd Infantry Brigade, Rizal PNP, and Jalajala PNP were acting on information from concerned citizens regarding an arms cache at Sitio Ik-ik in Barangay Lubo believed to be hidden by NPAs in the area. Soldiers and police were able to recover one caliber 30 M1 Garand rifle and one caliber 7.62mm AK-47 assault rifle.
"This development was made possible by the growing support and cooperation of our kababayans as well as our excellent partnership with the local government units, the security sector, and other key stakeholders. We take this progress as an inspiration to further intensify our operations across Southern Tagalog and secure our communities from the deceits and terror acts of the CPP-NPA-NDF," 2ID Commander Maj. Gen.
Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
