CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - The continuous localized peace engagements in the Quezon province have led to the withdrawal of support of 41 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters from the municipalities of General Luna, Catanauan, and Agdangan on Monday and Tuesday, February 27 and 28, 2023.
On February 27, 18 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters from the barangays of Sumilang, Lavides, San Nicolas in General Luna, Doongan Ilaya and Santa Maria Dao in Catanauan, and Silangang Maligaya in Agdangan discontinued their support to the communist group. Only a day after, on February 28, 23 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters from the barangays of San Isidro Ibaba, Lavides, and San Nicolas in General Luna and barangays of Santa Maria Dao, San Vicente Kanluran, and Milagrosa in Catanauan followed suit. They all signed sworn statements condemning the Communist Terrorist Groups and signifying their support for the government.

The activities were facilitated by the Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of General Luna, Catanauan, and Agdangan, with assistance from the 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion, Quezon PNP, General Luna PNP, Catanauan PNP, and Agdangan PNP.

"The continuous withdrawal of support among CTG supporters across Quezon province is a result of our convergence with our key stakeholders to win the trust and support of our kababayans in achieving genuine peace and development in the area. These developments inspire us to be relentless in our peace efforts here in Southern Tagalog," 2nd "Infantry" Jungle Fighter Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
