CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - A New People's Army member operating in the areas of Tanay, Rizal and Siniloan, Laguna surrendered with firearm in Antipolo, Rizal on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Troops from the 80th Infantry Battalion, Rizal PNP, Antipolo PNP, and Jalajala PNP at Sitio Apa in Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City facilitated the surrender of alias Kaka, a member of KLG Narciso from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee's Sub-Regional Military Area 4A. Alias Kaka brought with him one Garand rifle, 16 rounds of 7.62x63 mm live ammunitions, 10pcs of 40mm grenade launcher ammunitions, three M1 Garand clips, and a green sweatshirt with a printed logo of the NPA.
"More rebels are now becoming fully aware of the fact that they are only being deceived by the CPP-NPA NDF. This is why we are continuously urging those who are still in arms to heed our call for peace and return to the folds of the law and be part of the peace and development of Southern Tagalog," 2ID Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
