NPA finance officer yields to government forces in Quezon
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - A finance officer of the New People's Army surrendered to the government forces in Agdangan, Quezon on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
The Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of Agdangan headed by its chairman and the municipal mayor Hon. Rhadam Aguilar, with assistance from the 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion, Agdangan PNP, and Quezon PNP, facilitated the surrender of alias Kenneth, the finance officer of Apolonio-Mendoza-Command and a member of Platun Reymark from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee and a resident of Barangay Poblacion.
Alias Kenneth executed a sworn statement condemning the Communist Terrorist Group and pledged his allegiance to the government.
In a statement, the 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said that this surrender demonstrates the continued weakening of the Communist Terrorist Group's influence in the Quezon province. He added that it’s a testament to the effectiveness of the efforts of the various TF-ELCAC in collaboration with the security sector, their valued stakeholders, and the community members in countering insurgency across the CALABARZON region.
