NPA leader surrenders to Army's 2ID in Rizal
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - An NPA leader has yielded to the Philippine Army's 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division here on Monday, August 28, 2023.
Alias Bloody, whose various positions included being a former member of CPP-NPA-NDF affiliated organization Migrante, a publishing staff of Propaganda and Education under the National Operational Department, and vice platoon leader and commanding officer of the National Economic Strike Force under the National Finance Commission, surrendered to the soldiers in hopes of starting a new life with his family.
In a simple ceremony, 2ID Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong warmly received alias Bloody and provided financial assistance to help him as he safely rebuilds his life together with his family.
In a statement, Maj. Gen. Capulong lauded the wise decision of alias Bloody to abandon armed struggle and heed the government's call for peace. He also encouraged the few remaining NPA members to do the same, avail themselves of government grants and programs, and live anew with their families in the folds of the law.
