NPA leader surrenders with war materiel in Quezon
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - An NPA leader with war materiel surrendered to the government forces in Lopez, Quezon on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
Troops of the 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion and Quezon PNP in Barangay San Rafael facilitated the surrender of alias Cuba, the vice platoon leader of Platun Reymark from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee. He also brought one cal.38 pistol, a hand grenade, and one blasting cap.
The 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong welcomed the decision of alias Cuba to abandon armed struggle and heed the government's call for peace. He also urged the remaining NPA members to do the same and avail themselves of the grants and programs of the government to help live with their families instead of fighting for the selfish causes of the Communist Terrorist Group.
