NPA member surrenders to Army-PNP in Batangas

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - A member of the New People’s Army yielded to the forces of the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police in Rosario, Batangas on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Troops of the 59th Infantry “Protector” Battalion, Batangas PNP, and Rosario PNP facilitated the surrender of alias Paula, a member of SINAG 1 from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee and a resident of Barangay Sta. Clara in Batangas City where he is a member of the Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad there.

The 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong in a statement commended the brave decision of alias Paula to abandon the armed struggle and return to the folds of the law. He also emphasized the importance of reconciliation and rehabilitation in addressing the root causes of the insurgency, stating that every surrender is a step towards lasting peace and development in the province of Batangas and the entire CALABARZON region.
