NPA member surrenders with firearm in Oriental Mindoro
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – A former NPA member surrenders with firearm in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Troops from the 76th Infantry "Victrix" Battalion together with Bansud and Oriental Mindoro PNP facilitated the voluntary surrender of alias ATO, along with one M1 Garand Rifle at Brgy Malamig, Gloria, Oriental Mindoro. Alias Ato is the Vice Squad Leader of the recently dismantled KLG ICM, Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4D, He is a resident of Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro.
"We welcomed the continuous surrender of remaining member of communist terrorist group who have willingly laid down their arms and embraced the government’s peace efforts. We urge the remaining members of these groups to follow his example and voluntarily surrender to the folds of the government, so that together we can build a more peaceful and prosperous future for our nation.” 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. General Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
