NPA officer surrenders with firearm in Occidental Mindoro
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – An NPA officer surrenders with firearm in Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
Troops from the 203rd Infantry “Bantay Kapayapaan” Brigade together with Occidental Mindoro PNP facilitated the voluntary surrender of alias Paul/Andro/Crispin/Nanding along with one M16 Rifle and one long magazine with 23 rounds ammunition in Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro. Alias Paul is a finance officer of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4D.
"We remain committed to pursuing our peace efforts together with our partner stakeholders to end insurgency in Occidental Mindoro. We are urging the remaining NPA rebels to follow their former comrades and lay down their arms because our government is ready to provide them with the necessary assistance to start anew and rebuild their lives with their families.” 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. General Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
