NPA officer surrenders with firearm in Rizal
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - An NPA officer yielded to interagency operations of Army-PNP forces in Tanay, Rizal on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
Troops from the 80th Infantry “Steadfast” Battalion, 1st Infantry “Always First” Battalion, Rizal PNP, and Tanay PNP facilitated the surrender of alias Sun, a vice squad leader of KLG Narciso’s Platun 2 YGM from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4A. Alias Sun also surrendered one Remington sniper rifle with six live ammunitions.
"This surrender is another significant step in our collective efforts together with our partners from the security sector and key stakeholders of restoring peace and stability in the region. We are grateful for the growing trust and support of our kababayans in our continued pursuit of peace, security, and development for our communities here in Rizal and the entire Southern Tagalog,” said 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong in a statement.
