CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Continuous peace talks have led to the withdrawal of support of 23 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters across the municipalities of San Francisco and Mulanay in Quezon on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
The San Francisco Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict headed by Hon. Mayor Romulo Edaño Sr. and Mulanay MTF-ELCAC led by Hon. Mayor Aristotle Aguirre, with assistance from the 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion, Quezon PNP, San Francisco PNP, and Mulanay PNP, facilitated the withdrawal of support of 23 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters from the barangays of Huyon-Uyon, Pagsangahan, Silongin, and San Pedro.
"Our unceasing Local Peace Engagement efforts with our partners in the Task Force ELCAC and other key stakeholders have immensely contributed in building the trust and support of our kababayans for the development of this part of the country. We continue to urge the remaining rebels and supporters of the Communist Terrorist Group to join us in bringing genuine peace and progress in Southern Tagalog,” 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
