Quezon government welcomes surrender of 3 Militias, 2 SPLs, and withdrawal of support of 15 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – The Quezon government welcomed the surrender of 3 Milisyang Bayan members and 2 Sangay sa Partido Lokalidad as well as the withdrawal of support of 15 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters from the municipalities of Tagkawayan and Macalelon from Saturday to Sunday April 22-23, 2023.

The Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of Tagkawayan and Macalelon, with assistance from the 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion, Quezon PNP, Tagkawayan PNP, and Macalelon PNP, facilitated the surrender of 3 MBs, 2 SPLs and the withdrawal of support of 15 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters, all of whom are residents of barangay Malabahay in Macalelon and Casispalan in Tagkawayan.

"Together with our partners from the LGUs and other key stakeholders, we welcome the growing trust and cooperation of our kababayans in this part of the country. We remain committed to supporting our partners in peace and progress in CALABARZON to ensure we help build insurgency-resilient and progressive communities in Southern Tagalog," 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
