CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal – Soldiers conducting operations discovered an abandoned arms cache in Antipolo City, Rizal on Thursday, February 16, 2023.
Troops belonging to the 80th Infantry Battalion were conducting focused combat operations at Sitio San Ysiro in Barangay San Jose when they found the abandoned war materiel containing an M16 rifle, eight magazines, and 46 rounds of live ammunition.
"This development will undeniably help weaken the arms capability of the NPA, and with our intensified focused military operations, we will ensure the Communist Terrorist Group will be further incapacitated to secure our communities from the harms of terrorism," 2ID Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
