Soldiers, police arrest wanted NPA leader in Quezon

 

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Joint forces of the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police apprehended an NPA leader wanted for attempted murder in General Nakar, Quezon on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Troops of the 59th Infantry “Protector” Battalion, Quezon PNP, Mauban PNP conducted a joint law enforcement operation at Sitio Badjao in Barangay Cagsiay 2 and served a warrant of arrest to Emmanuel Dasillio for the crime of Murder, Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 and Rebellion filed under Criminal Case No. 21-4601, CC No. 22-4807 and CC No. 22-4821, respectively and issued by Sariaya Regional Trial Court dated January 13, 2021 and another warrant of arrest for Anti-Terrorism and Rebellion issued by the Mauban RTC dated June 23, 2022 and July 13, 2022 respectively. Dasillio is an intelligence personnel of Platun Laguna-Quezon from the Main Regional Guerilla Unit of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee. The troops also seized one cal.38 revolver loaded with 5 rounds of live ammunition from Dasillio.

In a statement, 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said that the arrest of Dasillio is a manifestation of the concerted effort of the security sector to bring those responsible for criminal acts to justice. He also urged the remaining NPA members to abandon the armed struggle, return to their families in the folds of the law and take advantage of the grants and programs of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
