Soldiers, police arrest wanted NPA leader in Quezon

CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Joint forces of the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police apprehended an NPA leader wanted for attempted murder in General Nakar, Quezon on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.


Troops of the 202nd Infantry Brigade, Quezon PNP, General Nakar PNP, Laguna PNP, and Makati PNP conducted a joint law enforcement operation at Barangay Mahabang Lalim and served a Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Attempted Murder filed under CC No. 2021-222-1 and issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 65 Acting Presiding Judge Hon. Marylou P. Meneses in Infanta. dated October 26, 2021, to Christopher A. Avellano alias Nelson, the Iskwad Lider of Platun 2 (YGM) of KLG Narciso from the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4A. The said warrant stemmed from an armed encounter between government forces and the NPAs at the said barangay on April 28, 2015.
