Quezon TF-ELCAC welcomes surrender of 3 Militia, 5 SPLs, withdrawal of support of 3 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters
CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of Quezon welcomed the surrender of three Milisyang Bayan members and five Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad members, as well as the withdrawal of support of two CPP-NPA-NDF supporters in Catanauan and General Luna, Quezon on Sunday and Monday, August 13-14, 2023.
With assistance from the 85th Infantry "Sandiwa" Battalion, Quezon PNP, Catanauan PNP, and General Luna PNP, the Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict of Catanauan and General Luna facilitated the surrender and withdrawal of support of three MBs, five SPLs, and two CPP-NPA-NDF all from Barangay San Pablo (Suha) in Catanauan and another communist party supporter from Barangay Lavidez in General Luna. All ten personalities have signed sworn statements renouncing their support for the CPP-NPA-NDF, condemning the communist terrorist group, and pledging their allegiance to the government.
The 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong expressed his enthusiasm with the continuous surrender of rebels and withdrawals of support, attributing it to the collective peace and development efforts of the security sector, levels of government, and key partner stakeholders. He added that the Filipino people are now becoming aware of the atrocities of the CPP-NPA-NDF. We will continue to capitalize on this to empower more communities to be insurgency resilient.
