The Joint Task Force-NCR headed by BGEN ALEX DC LUNA, through the 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, participated in the launching of the “Mask Para Sa Masa” by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease against COVID-19 and the Q.C Government last August 29, 2020 at Don Alejandro Roces Science High School, Don Alejandro Roces Ave., Brgy Obrero, Quezon City. The activity was graced by the presence of representatives from the Department of Health, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Red Cross.
The masks, along with other PPE paraphernalia, are intended to be distributed among the six (6) Districts of Quezon City which comprises 142 Barangays. This will be facilitated by the Disiplina Brigades of every Barangay and will be assisted by soldiers from the Joint Task Force-NCR and the 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion for additional manpower, security, and transportation assistance when required.
“This activity is an invaluable contribution in the fight against the pandemic and is worth replicating in other cities so as to curb the transmission of the disease and flatten the curve while alleviating the pressure of our healthcare system”, Mayor Joy Belmonte was quoted on her thoughts during the launching of the said activity.
